National RD&E Capability Audit – Fisheries & Aquaculture |
|
A sub-project of a national RD&E strategic planning project, this Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) project engaged RDS to audit and assess the existing RD&E capability in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, and their aquatic ecology and biodiversity, within a national context.
This required the development of a 'capability matrix' designed to capture capability across the diverse fields of expertise that provide RD&E across the national fisheries and aquaculture sectors. This tool was the used to survey all key research providers across Australia.
RDS identified gaps in the current RD&E capability in the fields of fisheries and aquaculture with respect to meeting defined future sector strategic priorities, including recommendations for areas requiring increased personnel (capability) now and in the future.
